Foster Care

The Moose Jaw Humane Society takes in hundreds of cats and dogs each year, and we depend on the work of our volunteers and foster families to help them.

The Shelter is once again looking for applicants that are interested in becoming foster families for pregnant cats, mother cats with kittens, as well as orphaned kittens.
Please call Ellen at 692-1517 for more information.

There is also a foster home need for special-needs dogs during the summer months, when adoptions slow down. We are looking for foster homes that can help out with some of our stronger breed dogs – many of these dogs are not suited for multi-dog homes. These dogs needing foster care have very common levels of dog-tolerance and will need a K-9 friend of the opposite sex. Please call Ellen at 692-1517 for more information. Want to walk and help the Moose Jaw Humane Society? Download the ResQWalk app. It is an app for smartphones that keeps track of how many km people walk, run or bike. The shelter then receives money from their donor pool. We love it, and we are #2 in North America for km walked! More info.
