Want to walk and help the Moose Jaw Humane Society? Download the ResQWalk app. It is an app for smartphones that keeps track of how many km people walk, run or bike. The shelter then receives money from their donor pool. We love it, and we are #2 in North America for km walked! More info.

What is a third party fundraiser? A third party activity can be defined as any fundraising initiative brought forward by an individual(s), community group, service club, or business external to the Moose Jaw Humane Society who wish to raise money through a planned activity that is designed, managed and financially resourced by the external participants.

Some ideas for third party events you can hold to benefit the MJHS are:
  • Bake sales (why not make some dog treats or catnip toys to sell too?)
  • Lemonade stand
  • Garage/yard sales
  • Car washes or dog washes
  • Host a theme party, catalogue order party, or other home-based business party
  • Raffles, penny parade
  • Penny/spare change drive
  • Collect recyclables in a bottle drive
  • Birthday parties, anniversaries, or other celebrations where guests are asked to make a donation in lieu of a gift.

For Weddings!

Wedding games "Kisses for Kritters" – in lieu of clinking glasses, wedding guests make a small donation to the Humane Society each time they want the couple to kiss!

Birthday Paw-ties!

Looking to make a difference for your birthday? Lots of generous kids have held birthday party fundraisers, asking for gifts for pets instead of for themselves. Here are some ideas other children have done for their parties:
  • Toonies for Tabbies - Have guests bring a toonie to donate to the animals at the Humane Society.
  • Collect cash donations in lieu of birthday presents for the animals
  • Ask each guest to bring a can of wet food or some pet treats
  • Ask each guest to bring one special new toy for a shelter animal
  • Decorate a special container to collect donations from friends and family
Don't forget! If you held a special birthday party and are planning to drop off your donation, please contact the Humane Society at 692-1517. We would love to give you a thank-you tour!
