Subsidized Spay & Neuter Program for Cats

Who is eligible to apply?

Any person who has been a resident of Moose Jaw for at least one year and whose total household income fall under Statistics Canada's Low Income Cut Offs (LICO).

Documentation Required

1) Each income earner in the household must provide a copy of the previous year's Notice of Assessment from Revenue Canada. 

2) Each applicant must also provide proof of residency. To verify ONE of the following documents issued within the last month showing the applicants name and address: - Telephone or Cable Bill - SaskPower or SaskEnergy Bill - City of Moose Jaw Utility Bill

What is the fee per pet and who pays the rest?

A non-refundable payment of $25 is made by the applicant per cat.  The balance of the cost is paid by the city of Moose Jaw and the Moose Jaw Animal Clinic.

What surgery items are covered?

First visit to the Moose Jaw Animal Clinic  to determine suitability for surgery.

If suitable for surgery, relevant vaccines will be administered. Second visit to the Moose Jaw Animal Clinic for the spay/neuter surgery and booster vaccines.

Is there a limit to the number of pets a household can have done?

Each year, the program will pay for a maximum of two cats per household.
