Whether it's walking, playing or making toys and treats, you get to spend quality time with the dogs at our facility and help make their stay enjoyable.

A wonderful opportunity for children between the ages of 5 to 13 years old to develop their reading skills while providing valuable socialization and enrichment to our dogs and cats.

Our Special Events Volunteers play a vital role in helping the Moose Jaw Humane Society raise funds and connect with our community. These volunteers assist at markets, fairs, and special events by helping sell MJHS merchandise, lottery tickets, and sharing information about our programs and animals.
This role is perfect for friendly, outgoing individuals who enjoy engaging with the public and supporting a great cause. Special Events Volunteers help create a welcoming presence at our booths and are ambassadors for the shelter in the community.
Duties may include:
No previous experience is required—training and support are provided. Your time and enthusiasm help directly support the animals in our care.

Corporations who take an employee engagement approach to workplace giving and volunteering programs, not only achieve greater social impact—they can drive additional business value through increased employee retention, too. Corporate volunteering is a commitment by a company to encourage staff to volunteer for not-profit organizations such as the Moose Jaw Humane Society. If your company is interested in partnering with the Moose Jaw Humane Society please contact us at outreach@mjhs.ca

Our Foster Care Program plays a vital role in helping animals heal, grow, and thrive in a home environment. Foster homes provide temporary care for animals who need a little extra support before they are ready for adoption.
Fosters are especially needed for pregnant and nursing cats and dogs, giving mama a quiet, safe space to give birth and raise her babies until they are around 8 weeks old and ready to return to the shelter to find their forever homes. We also rely on foster homes for animals recovering from injury or illness who need a calm place to heal outside of the shelter environment.
The Moose Jaw Humane Society provides everything a foster home needs, including:
Foster families provide love, patience, and a safe space — we take care of the rest. You don’t need prior experience, just a willingness to open your home and your heart for a short period of time.
Fostering saves lives and makes a life-changing difference for animals when they need it most.
It's official, our new shelter capital campaign has launched! If you want to be part of the MJHS' future you can donate toward the new building by clicking the DONATE tab. It takes a community and we are so grateful for ours!
